Description

Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshield, Wildcat of the North. This is heavily influenced by the work of the artists at Dreamworks, who I idolise and dearly wish to meet one day. Also tried a new colouring style, mainly influenced by "OMG I have no time anymore" and actually kind of like the raggedy look to it.

There's not much here, but since I can, I've asked for a critique, if anyone feels like it :)

She is from the IceMark Chronicles (c) Stuart Hill, whose stories have remained lodged permanently in my head for all eternity.

Okay, I'm not a great artist so I don't know how helpful this critique can be but since you asked... <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x…" width="15" height="15" alt=":XD:" title="XD"/>

You really do well at Dreamworksish drawing: the stylized proportions and perspective look impeccable to me. I like how strong and definite you coloring is. Two thumbsup at your shading skills - even done in a rush as you had mentioned in the artist's comments, it's still clear and in the right places. The way you shaped up her face and added markings and freckles gives it a realistic feel.

The only two things to point out are her nose - even considering the stylization, the tip looks a bit odd - and the lighting. Although your color scheme for this piece is dark, I believe there could be a tiny bit more of light, especially on her hair, eyes and armor.

Overall, it's a lovely picture and I agree with a commenteer here who said it looks like a sketch for a Dreamworks production. It does look professional <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Nod"/>
